Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bernard Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benton comes to the cage accompanied by N.W.A - Straight Outta Compton. Anderson has chosen The High Road as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bernard Benton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Craig Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benton throws a big shot that misses.
Benton misses with a low kick.
Anderson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Benton throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Anderson takes a swing at Benton's ribcage but misses.
Benton lands a glancing blow to the side of Anderson's head.
Anderson tries a head kick but it misses.
Anderson misses with an uppercut.
Anderson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Benton is out of range.
Benton misses with a hook.
Anderson moves out of range as Benton strikes.
Benton misses with a straight left.
Anderson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Benton to score with a decent uppercut.

and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Benton won't be happy with that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Benton is looking to regain half guard here but Anderson keeps moving and retains side control.

Anderson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Benton tries to buck Anderson off but Anderson is having none of it.
Anderson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Benton sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Benton can't do much from the bottom here.
Benton is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Anderson is controlling him well.

Benton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Anderson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Anderson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Benton has escaped the position, nice work there.
Benton is not content to let Anderson control the position.
Anderson is chipping away with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's time! Benton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Anderson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Benton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Anderson throws a leg kick which misses Benton's front leg but catches the back leg as Benton tries to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Anderson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Benton is looking to stand up but Anderson isn't so interested in that idea.
Anderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Benton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Anderson advances to half guard.
Anderson is looking to advance position but Benton won't allow it.
Anderson throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Benton to regain full guard.
Benton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Anderson is one step ahead there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Anderson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Anderson drops back looking for a leg! Benton is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Benton manages to kick Anderson off! Anderson jumps back into Benton's guard.
Benton is adopting a defensive guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Benton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Anderson is looking to work some ground and pound but Benton has wrist control.
Anderson wants to pass the guard but Benton is keeping the position.
Benton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A nice leg kick lands there from Benton.
Benton avoids the head kick by Anderson.
Anderson ducks under a wild hook from Benton.
Anderson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Benton has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A close second round but Craig Anderson will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anderson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Benton's head.
Benton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Anderson is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Benton is not content to let Anderson control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Anderson walks into a straight right hand from Benton.
Anderson tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Anderson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Benton.
Anderson throws a head kick that Benton semi-blocks.
Benton will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Anderson counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Benton misses the shot to the body.
Benton missing with a left hand there. Anderson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Benton throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Anderson's head.
A nice inside leg kick there by Anderson. That's going to slow Benton down.

Anderson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Benton if he has to take too many more of those.

Craig Anderson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Anderson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
