Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Killian Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Payne is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Murphy enables Payne to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Murphy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Payne is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Murphy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

It looks like Payne might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Murphy is desperately trying to improve his position but Payne has a good base and remains in mount.

Payne drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Murphy dives on top into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Payne can do anything to dispel that myth.
