Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Big Thump!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Gsp!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gsp shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Thump punching from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are battling for position here. Thump manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Thump is trying to control the position but Gsp postures up.
Thump lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Thump advances position into side control!
Thump misses with the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thump grinds an elbow into Gsp's temple.

Thump has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Gsp is not content to let Thump control the position.
Gsp gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Thump lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Thump fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Thump has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Thump in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Thump cracks Gsp with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Big Thump!
After the fight, Big Thump was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
