Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maxwell Pappin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Penn!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pappin drives through with a takedown into guard.

Penn can't keep his opponent in guard - Pappin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pappin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Penn wants to get back to his feet but Pappin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Penn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pappin swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Maxwell Pappin just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Penn looks to land a combination. Pappin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Pappin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Penn to the mat! Penn manages to get full guard.
Penn wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Pappin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Penn for as long as he can get away with.

Penn is looking to stand up but Pappin isn't so interested in that idea.

Penn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pappin manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pappin has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Pappin pulls Penn in close to his closed guard and prevents Penn from doing any damage or advancing position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pappin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
