PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bo Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson has chosen God save the Queen as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Bo Tyson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aaron Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bo Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone throws a jab but it's blocked by Tyson.
Tyson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Tyson fails to land with a series of punches.
Tyson moves in looking to clinch but Stone pushes him off.
Stone tries to clinch but Tyson moves out of range.
Stone moves forwards but Tyson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Stone.
Stone connects with a high kick.


It looks like Bo Tyson has been cut.
Stone has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Tyson scores with a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tyson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Tyson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Stone tries to clinch there but Tyson circles away.
Stone gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Tyson scores with a shot to the body.

Tyson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Stone has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cylon Training Academy in the buildup to the fight.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Stone throws a lazy right hand but Tyson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Tyson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stone's waist but Stone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tyson off to one side.
A big right from Tyson misses.
Stone connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
The fighters circle momentarily. Tyson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Stone ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tyson moves away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Stone enables Tyson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stone manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Stone has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Tyson has passed into side control.

Tyson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stone darts in looking for a takedown but Tyson gets double underhooks and turns Stone into the cage.
Tyson is trying to push Stone away but Stone has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Tyson lands a left hand.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Stone fails to land.
Stone is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Tyson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Tyson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tyson takes a swing at Stone's ribcage but misses.
Tyson is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Tyson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Stone under the eye.
Stone takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Stone shoots in for a double leg but Tyson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Stone. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tyson thuds his right hand into Stone's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Stone walks into a straight right hand from Tyson.

Tyson ducks under a wild hook from Stone.

Tyson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stone to the mat! Stone manages to get full guard.

Stone lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Stone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tyson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stone stands and throws Tyson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Stone tries to move to mount but Tyson blocks the move with his legs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stone looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Tyson is avoiding damage well.

Stone is looking to take a break and control but Tyson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Stone tries to move into full mount but can't pass Tyson's legs.
Tyson wants to get back to his feet but Stone drags him back down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stone throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bo Tyson dominated that round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Stone scores with a sloppy right hand. Tyson should have avoided that one.
Tyson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Stone manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Tyson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Tyson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Tyson cracks Stone with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Tyson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tyson avoids the body shot from Stone.
Tyson tests Stone's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Stone swinging wildly here.
Tyson misses with an uppercut. Stone saw that one coming.
Stone tries to score with a low kick but Tyson moves his leg out of the way.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stone throws a push kick but Tyson slaps the foot to one side.
Stone avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stone will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bo Tyson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stone scores with a nice head shot.
Tyson connects with a nice looking jab.
Tyson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stone.

Tyson throws a right and a left that Stone avoids nicely.
Stone doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Tyson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Stones jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Tyson moves out of range as Stone strikes.
Tyson misses the shot to the body.
Stone keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Tyson.
Tyson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bo Tyson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Stone closes the distance and clinches up with Tyson, looking for a takedown. Stone pushes Tyson against the cage but Tyson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bo Tyson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stone finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Tyson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stone, pushing him back against the cage.
Stone doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Stone fails to pull the fight into his guard.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Tyson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Tyson creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops Stone! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Tyson.
