Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Freedman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcus Freedman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brandon Grant!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freedman darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Grant swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Freedman tries for a takedown but Grant sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Freedman dives in and grabs Grant's left leg, looking for a takedown. Grant pushes down on Freedman's head and hops out.
Freedman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Grant, pushing him back against the ropes.
Freedman wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Grant can't get the takedown.
Grant drags the fight down to the ground.
Grant throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Grant keeping full guard, as Freedman tries to pass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Freedman throws a big elbow that misses.
Grant can't keep his opponent in guard - Freedman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Freedman is trying hard to land a takedown here. Grant sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

so Grant counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Grant is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Freedman defends well.

Freedman moves into full mount!
Freedman working for a submission but Grant is keeping him at bay.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Freedman is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Grant has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Grant!

Freedman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Grant manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Grant is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Our spies down at at Team Finland inform us that Grant has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Grant will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Grant is trying to improve his position.
Grant regains half guard.
Freedman trying to mount his opponent but Grant defends it.

Grant is looking for a sweep. Freedman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Freedman wants to advance to full mount but Grant doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Freedman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grant swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Grant has his foot on Freedman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Freedman works his way back into a safe position though.

Freedman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Freedman frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Freedman is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Grant is surviving well by controlling Freedman's body position as best he can.
Grant is looking to improve his position but Freedman isn't that keen on the idea.

A close round but Brandon Grant will probably get the nod.

Freedman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Grant but Grant pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Grant stuffs the takedown attempt from Freedman. Freedman gets slowly back to his feet.
Freedman misses with a straight left.
Grant throws a series of punches but Freedman moves out of range.
Freedman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Grant defends it nicely.

Marcus Freedman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Freedman shoots in for a takedown but Grant shows good takedown defense.

Freedman tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Grant defends well and Freedman ends up having to push Grant into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Grant is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Freedman decides to stand and escape the position.
Grant tries to move into range but Freedman moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Horrible takedown attempt by Freedman or perhaps it was just good defense by Grant, which made it look bad.
Grant ducks right into an uppercut from Freedman.
Grant misses with a two punch combination.
Freedman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Grant shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Grant was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Freedman is not content to let Grant control the position.
Grant tries to advance to mount but Freedman denies him.
You can see the frustration on Freedman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Freedman is looking for a sweep.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Check out the look on Grant's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Grant has an Americana. Freedman didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Grant is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Grant hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
