The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Von Hohenheim listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Von Hohenheim throws a lazy right hand but Chara sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Von Hohenheim uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Theophrastus Von Hohenheim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Von Hohenheim lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Chara at a distance.

Chara lands a two punch combo.
Chara shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Von Hohenheim pinned against the cage. Von Hohenheim gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Von Hohenheim misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Von Hohenheim lets loose with a powerful body kick. Chara will feel that in the morning.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Chara crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Von Hohenheim - the referee stops the clock and Chara gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Von Hohenheim. Chara manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Chara walks into a stiff left hand from Von Hohenheim.
Von Hohenheim does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Jab, jab by Von Hohenheim - just one landing.

Von Hohenheim leaves Chara with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Von Hohenheim throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Von Hohenheim dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Chara misses with a series of wild punches.
Von Hohenheim thows a leg kick but Chara checks it
and Chara counters with a single leg into guard. Von Hohenheim didn't expect that.
Chara wants to control from the top but Von Hohenheim keeps moving.
Chara is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Chara won't allow Von Hohenheim to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chara throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Von Hohenheim works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Chara sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Von Hohenheim's guard.

Chara has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Chara prevents Von Hohenheim from standing back up.

Von Hohenheim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chara can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Von Hohenheim bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chara's guard.
Von Hohenheim is posturing up here but Chara has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Von Hohenheim tries to roll out but it's too tight and Von Hohenheim has to tap! Slick submission there by Chara!
