The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eyj misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Crunch! Eyj slams his shin into Overeem's torso.
Overeem leaves Eyj with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Eyj tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Overeem tries to clinch up.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Eyj has managed to clinch.

Eyj escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Eyj fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Overeem sprawls well initially but Eyj persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Eyj looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Eyj is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Overeem is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Eyj tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Overeem is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Overeem defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Eyj's arms.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Eyj is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
