Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brian Fantana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonatan Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Fantana might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Sex Panther Is Out Tonight - Barry White feat. Brian Fantana. The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fantana works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Fantana fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Fantana misses with a wild body shot.
Jose throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fantana tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jose is in Fantana's guard.

Jose must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jose tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fantana defends well and Jose ends up having to push Fantana into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

I was talking to Fantana's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fantana gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Jose closes the distance and clinches up with Fantana, looking for a takedown. Jose pushes Fantana against the cage but Fantana circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jose walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Jose takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Jose doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Fantana is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jose's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
