PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Amicu Ker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Acton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terry Acton told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Amicu Ker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terry Acton!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Acton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Acton looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ker on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ker tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Acton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Acton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Ker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Acton works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Acton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Acton is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ker can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Acton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Acton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Acton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Terry Acton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Acton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
