Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Canela Elbow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Canela Elbow will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alexander Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Canela Elbow!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mason manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Elbow on his heels. He'll look to pass Elbow's guard now, I'm sure.

Mason stands and steps away. Elbow gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Elbow feints and then cracks Mason's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mason down.
Mason moves out of range of the leg kick from Elbow.
Mason takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Elbow misses with a low kick.
Elbow pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Elbow bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Elbow misses with a head kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Elbow.

An inside leg kick lands from Elbow.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Elbow. Mason shrugs it off though.
Elbow throws a leg kick but Mason sees it coming and moves out of range.
Elbow lands with a kick to the temple. Mason shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Elbow throws a leg kick which misses Mason's front leg but catches the back leg as Mason tries to avoid it.
Elbow throws a front kick aimed at Mason's knee but Mason avoids it well.
Mason avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Canela Elbow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Elbow tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Elbow tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Mason on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Elbow lands a nice looking kick to the body. Mason takes a step back to recover.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Elbow throws a chopping leg kick but Mason manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Elbow, right into the meat.
Elbow thumps Mason with a low kick.
Elbow lands with a nice body kick.

Elbow instigates a clinch.
Elbow gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Knees in the clinch landing for Elbow.
Mason tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Elbow just stands there and leans against the cage.
Elbow tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mason avoids it.
Mason is trying to drag Elbow to the mat but Elbow just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Elbow creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Mason's defenses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mason has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Elbow avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Elbow lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Alexander Mason has been cut.
Elbow comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Alexander Mason's cut is getting worse.
Elbow lands a good knee to the midsection. Mason won't want to take too many of those.
Oh Mason is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Elbow misses with a punch on the inside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Canela Elbow dominated that round.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mason takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Mason seems to have got his legs back now.

Elbow has closed the distance and engaged Mason in a clinch.
Elbow lands an elbow that stopped Mason in his tracks for a moment.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Elbow takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Mason fails to pull guard.
Elbow creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Mason's defenses.
Mason jumps guard but Elbow turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Alexander Mason's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Elbow pulls back and lands a big elbow that stuns Mason! Elbow unloads with more strikes and Mason sinks to his knees! This one is all over!
