The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakurai circles away from the clinch attempt.

Sakurai scores with a takedown into Hata's guard.

Sakurai drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sakurai jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hata is trying to control the position but Sakurai postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
