PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Gsp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Tremblay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Gsp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Tremblay!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gsp shoots in and gets a takedown into Tremblay's guard.
We've been hearing that Gsp has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Gsp trying to control the position from guard on top but Tremblay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gsp working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Gsp trying to control but Tremblay is working from the bottom.
Tremblay is trying to control the position but Gsp postures up.
Tremblay bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gsp's guard.

Tremblay trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Gsp pushes Tremblay off and scrambles back to his feet.

Gsp closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tremblay did well to prevent Gsp getting side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gsp seems to be looking for submissions.
Gsp working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Tremblay is refusing to be controlled, as Gsp sits in half guard.
Tremblay trying to control but Gsp postures up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gsp lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Gsp throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Gsp thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gsp not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Tremblay desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Gsp not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Gsp sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tremblay defending well though.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gsp lands a nice short elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gsp prevents Tremblay from improving his position.
Tremblay trying to control but Gsp postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Gsp shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tremblay napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Tremblay struggling a bit here.
Gsp misses with the ground and pound.
Gsp cracks Tremblay with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The ground and pound from Gsp seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Gsp looks up at the clock and then as Tremblay takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Gsp smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gsp creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Gsp throws an elbow but Tremblay slips to the side and avoids it well.
Gsp lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Gsp working the ground and pound from side control.


Tremblay is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gsp lands some shots froms side control.
Tremblay is still in real trouble! Can Gsp finish him?
Gsp is looking to take a break and control but Tremblay is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Tremblay struggling a bit here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tremblay is not content to let Gsp control the position.
Tremblay seems to have recovered his senses.
Check out the look on Gsp's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg Gsp dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Gsp closes the distance looking for a takedown. Tremblay stuffs it but Gsp still has hold of him. Gsp picks Tremblay up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Gsp slams Tremblay to the floor and that's really hurt Tremblay - he doesn't know where he is! Gsp throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Greg Gsp!
