Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gabriel Washington!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Blue Rak!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington scores with a jab to the head.
Washington jabs Rak right on the nose. Rak blinks but takes it well.
Washington slips a jab and a cross from Rak.
Washington lands with an overhand left.
Washington checks the leg kick.
Rak tries to close the distance and clinch up but Washington swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rak keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Washington.
Washington throws a shot from downtown. Rak moves away and avoids it.
Rak has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Washington lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rak circles away quickly and effectively.
Washington throws a nice looking combination but Rak bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Washington misses with a hook.
Rak steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Washington.
Washington scores with a crisp jab that stopped Rak in his tracks.
Rak throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's one minute gone in the round.
A combination from Washington does no damage.
Washington slips a jab and a cross from Rak.
Washington looks to land a right hand but Rak moved out of range.

Rak gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Washington prevents Rak from breaking the clinch.
Rak has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Rak is struggling to control the position.

Washington breaks from the clinch.
Washington throws a poor cross that misses
and Rak counters with an inside leg kick.

Washington has taken the fight to the clinch.

Rak wants the takedown. Washington is fighting it off but Rak persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Washington's guard against the cage.
Washington is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Rak wants to control from the top but Washington keeps moving.
Rak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Washington. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Washington not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Washington keeping moving, preventing Rak from controlling successfully.

Washington working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rak doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rak manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Washington controls Rak momentarily but Rak frees himself.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Washington is on top in guard.


That's three minutes gone in the round.
Washington throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rak is looking to stand up but Washington isn't so interested in that idea.
Washington looking to sit in guard and control but Rak gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Washington has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rak can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rak stopping the sweep attempt from Washington.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rak trying to control the position from guard on top but Washington is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rak must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Rak wants to get up but he can't break Washington's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Washington has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Rak should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Washington has tightened it up now! Rak should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
