Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dave Meyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Enson Inoue!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meyer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Inoue changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Inoue keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Inoue lands with a cross.
Meyer shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Inoue just misses with a punch to the body.
Meyer takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Meyer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Inoue's waist but Inoue gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Meyer off to one side.
Inoue throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slow jab from Inoue misses its intended target.
Enson Inoue seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Meyer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Inoue.
Inoue dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Inoue works Meyer's body with a nice hook.

Inoue ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Inoue swings widly with a right hand
and Meyer counters with a stiff right hand.
Meyer takes one on the button.
Inoue scores with a nice right hand.
Inoue throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Meyer gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Meyer drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Meyer advances to mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Meyer has hold of Inoue's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Inoue manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Inoue really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Meyer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Inoue slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Meyer is working for a kimura but Inoue is defending it quite comfortably.
Meyer working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Inoue's thigh. Inoue counters though and makes it back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Meyer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Inoue swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Inoue is looking for a triangle but Meyer pushes his legs off easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Inoue looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Meyer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Meyer has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Inoue!
Inoue tries to buck Meyer off but he can't manage it.

Inoue defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Meyer.
Inoue tries to buck Meyer off but Meyer takes his back!
Inoue has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Meyer scores with punches from the back.
Inoue is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Meyer has his arm under Inoue's chin here. Game over son! Meyer squeezes tightly and Inoue is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dave Meyer!
Dave Meyer seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
