Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Francois Leon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Stanford!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Phil Schofield and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leon stuffs the takedown.
Stanford connects with a right hand. Leon shakes it off.


It looks like Francois Leon has been cut.
Leon stuffs the takedown.
Stanford shoots for a takedown but Leon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Francois Leon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy Stanford.
Leon looks to throw the jab but Stanford is out of range.
Stanford on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Leon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stanford.
A combination from Leon does no damage.
Stanford moves away from the strike by Leon.

Stanford shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Leon napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Stanford is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Leon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Leon is trying to escape the position but Stanford is controlling the position.

Stanford looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
We've been hearing good reports from Leon's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Stanford taking a breather here.

Stanford wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Leon, who protects the arm well.

Stanford tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stanford has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Stanford tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Stanford wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Leon, who protects the arm well.

Stanford trying to control the position but Leon is working away.

Stanford is trying to get an arm triangle but Leon is defending well.
Leon seems a little lost for a moment, as Stanford dominates the positioning.
Stanford fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Stanford trying to control the action but Leon is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
A lull in the action here.
Stanford tries to score with some ground and pound. Leon controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Stanford happy to just control the position for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Stanford has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Leon is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Stanford yanks on the arm and Leon is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Stanford.
