Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chan Sung Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Kraken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chan Sung Aoki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Kraken!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kraken but Kraken pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice sprawl there from Aoki as Kraken shoots in.
Aoki keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kraken avoids a kick to the body.
A jab from Kraken misses.
Aoki fails to land the takedown.
Aoki gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Aoki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kraken moves away.
Aoki checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aoki lands a lovely overhand right.
Aoki on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kraken. Kraken obviously looking to wear him down.
Kraken misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kraken connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Kraken moves out of range of the strikes.
Aoki has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Kraken throws a low kick, looking for Aoki's leg but Aoki calmly moves out of range.
Jack Kraken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kraken throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Aoki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kraken swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kraken lands a right hook to the body.
Kraken slips under a jab.
Kraken misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Aoki.

and Aoki counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Chan Sung Aoki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Kraken.

Aoki uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kraken.

Kraken shoots in and gets a takedown into Aoki's guard.
Kraken must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kraken is in close to Aoki's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aoki bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Kraken really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aoki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Aoki wants to control from the top but Kraken keeps moving.
Kraken has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Aoki has passed into side control.

Aoki looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Kraken tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kraken is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Kraken dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kraken scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Kraken looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Aoki connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Aoki lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Kraken is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Aoki rather than just go for the knockout.
Kraken loads up on a big right hand but Aoki slips the punch.
Kraken has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The fighters circling - Aoki throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kraken tries to score with a low kick but Aoki moves his leg out of the way.

Aoki is trying to control Kraken's posture but Kraken avoids it.
Aoki is not content to let Kraken control the position.
Kraken is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Aoki will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Aoki is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Aoki manages to get to full guard.
Aoki is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Aoki is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Kraken is looking for a sweep. Aoki is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, if Aoki is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Kraken moves into full guard.
Aoki missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Kraken is trying to control the position but Aoki postures up.
Jack Kraken has got the better of the ground game so far.
Aoki wants to control from the top but Kraken keeps moving.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Aoki won't allow Kraken to sweep him here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kraken fails to land the takedown.
Kraken moves out of range of the body kick from Aoki.
Aoki fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kraken shoots for a double leg takedown but Aoki sprawls well. He's pushed Kraken's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kraken takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Aoki manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kraken on his heels. He'll look to pass Kraken's guard now, I'm sure.
Aoki not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close second round but Jack Kraken will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Kraken throws a half hearted mid kick.
Aoki avoids the body shot from Kraken.
Kraken looks to score with a jab to the body but Aoki is just out of range.
Jack Kraken seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Kraken lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Kraken shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Aoki manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kraken engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Kraken is looking to work some ground and pound but Aoki has wrist control.

Aoki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kraken defends it easily.
Kraken wants to control from the top but Aoki keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Aoki controls Kraken momentarily but Kraken frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kraken fails with the takedown

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kraken throws a looping overhand right but Aoki ducks down to avoid it.
Kraken scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Kraken throws a right and a left that both miss.
Aoki on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Kraken tries to work over Aoki's front leg with a kick but Aoki checks it.

Kraken will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Kraken looks to land a right hand but Aoki moved out of range.

Good leg kick by Kraken there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Aoki gets through Kraken's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Aoki creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Jack Kraken comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kraken winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
