PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jefferson Hoffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Knope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knope comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Little Talks kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knope misses with a series of wild punches.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hoffman.
Check out the look on Hoffman's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hoffman landing strikes.

Hoffman decides to stand up, so the ref orders Knope to his feet.
Hoffman tries to clinch but Knope moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knope throws a nice looking combination but Hoffman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hoffman throws a nice inside leg kick.
Daniel Knope seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Knope lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hoffman circles away quickly and effectively.

Hoffman darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Hoffman stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Knope to get to his feet.
Knope throws a right and a left that both miss.
Knope swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Hoffman counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hoffman.

Knope got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hoffman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Knope has managed to get both his arms back between Hoffman's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hoffman uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Hoffman misses with a head kick.

Hoffman instigates a clinch.
Hoffman jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Knope walks away with a smile on his face. Hoffman gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Knope tests Hoffman's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Knope rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hoffman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Knope throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Hoffman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Knope won't be happy with that.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hoffman has hold of Knope's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Knope seems comfortable defending it but Hoffman has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Knope is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Knope is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hoffman couldn't care less - he's delighted!
