The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Octavius tries to bum rush Rua with a series of wild strikes but Rua uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Octavius dodges the punch combination from Rua.
Octavius lands a big head kick that sends Rua tumbling to the mat! Octavius takes a step backwards and waves Rua back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Rua is rocked!
It looks like Mauricio Rua has been cut.
Octavius misses with a wild combination.
Rua is still on wobbly legs! Can Octavius finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Octavius shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Rua is on queer street and Octavius is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!

An out of breath Gaius Octavius thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Mauricio Rua was interviewed post fight and said 'what can I say ? he kick my ass'.
