The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Asap looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Asap passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Asap looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Asap trying to control the position but Grylls is working away.

Asap remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Asap swings around for an armbar but Grylls sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Asap's guard.

Asap tries to score a power double leg takedown but Grylls sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Asap somewhat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Grylls is controlling Asap's trapped leg to prevent Asap from advancing to side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Grylls tries to clinch up but Asap circles away and keeps his distance.

Asap is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Grylls has escaped the position, nice work there.
Grylls is trying to buck Asap off.
Asap has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Grylls is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Asap wants to control the pace but Grylls is squirming around nicely.
Grylls working to try and regain half guard.
Asap controlling his opponent.

Asap wants to finish this one by submission but Grylls is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Asap.

Asap swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Grylls is now in Asap's guard. A big mistake from Asap there, giving up the dominant position!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Asap is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
