Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rashid Kurmally (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Lockhart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Lockhart will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lockhart wants to clinch.
Kurmally misses with a hook
and Lockhart counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Kurmally defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lockhart.
The fighters circling - Kurmally throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kurmally throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Lockhart counters with a nice uppercut.
Kurmally throws the left hand but Lockhart avoids the punch easily.

Kurmally drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lockhart is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Lockhart counters with a two punch combo.
Horrible takedown attempt by Lockhart or perhaps it was just good defense by Kurmally, which made it look bad.
Kurmally throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lockhart's waist but Lockhart gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kurmally off to one side.
Kurmally throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Lockhart to counter with a crisp jab.
Kurmally misses with a right hand
and Lockhart counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Lockhart tries for a takedown but Kurmally sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rashid Kurmally has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Lockhart.

Kurmally rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lockhart counters with a good, hard body kick but Kurmally shrugs it off.
Lockhart bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kurmally tries to bum rush Lockhart with a series of wild strikes but Lockhart uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rashid Kurmally seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kurmally throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Lockhart to counter with a crisp jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lockhart defending well as Kurmally loads up on a big left hand.
Lockhart has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Kurmally is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Lockhart tries to clinch but Kurmally moves away

and Kurmally counters by moving into the clinch.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lockhart is on top in guard.
Kurmally manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lockhart manages to get himself to full guard.

Lockhart throws a strike but Kurmally rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kurmally tries to free his leg and advance position but Lockhart is retaining full guard.

Kurmally throws a hook but Lockhart avoids it easily.

Lockhart closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lockhart seems to be working for a kimura but Kurmally defends the submission attempt.

Lockhart looks to land a strike but Kurmally avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Kurmally throws a series of punches but Lockhart moves out of range.

Lockhart shoots in for a takedown but Kurmally shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kurmally closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kurmally lands in his opponent's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kurmally drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lockhart manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kurmally has Lockhart in his guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rashid Kurmally will probably get the nod.

Kurmally has Lockhart pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kurmally pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lockhart tumbling to the mat - Kurmally dives into Lockhart's guard.
