Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Diego!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Tenchi Fuchigami!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diego throws out a loose jab but Fuchigami uses good head movement to avoid it.
A punch combination from Diego misses.
Nice body punch from Fuchigami.
Diego tries to close the distance and clinch but Fuchigami swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fuchigami throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Fuchigami tries to clinch but Diego moves out of range.
Diego tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fuchigami was well out of range. Poor timing from Diego.
Diego throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fuchigami lands the left hand.
Diego fakes the leg kick and cracks Fuchigami in the body.
Fuchigami goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
A jab from Fuchigami misses.
Diego misses with a body kick.
Diego misses with an uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Diego lands a jab to Fuchigami's midsection.
Fuchigami on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
It looks like Tenchi Fuchigami has been cut.
Fuchigami bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Diego tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fuchigami swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Diego - that will leave a mark!
Fuchigami looks to land a combination but Diego avoids it well.
Don Diego seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Diego explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Diego will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Diego misses with a leg kick.
A combination from Fuchigami does no damage.
Fuchigami punishes Diego's body with a nice straight punch.
A big right from Diego misses.
Diego throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A big left from Diego misses.
Diego scores with a jab to the head.
Diego throws a leg kick but Fuchigami sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Diego sizes up Fuchigami with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Diego plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Fuchigami is rocked!
Diego finds Fuchigami's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Fuchigami flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Diego lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Fuchigami will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Don Diego!
Don Diego decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
