PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ned Gein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shape Shifter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gein comes to the cage accompanied by 'Mama Said Knock You Out' by LL Cool J. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Shape Shifter!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shifter has a takedown stuffed.
Shifter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gein but Gein pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Shifter looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Gein connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Gein throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gein shoots in but no luck this time.
Gein tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shifter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gein gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Shifter is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Ned Gein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shape Shifter.
Gein gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shifter.
Gein crunches a lovely knee into Shifter's ribcage.

Gein wants the takedown. Shifter is fighting it off but Gein persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Shifter's guard against the cage.
Shifter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gein is one step ahead there.
Gein wants to control from the top but Shifter keeps moving.
Gein forces his way into half guard.
Shifter throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Shifter is trying to get back to full guard.

Gein prevents Shifter from improving his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shifter is pressing down on Gein's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Shifter wants to sweep here but Gein controlling him for the moment.
We've been hearing that Gein has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Gein wants to control from the top but Shifter keeps moving.

Shifter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gein doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gein manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Shifter can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gein controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gein wants to pass the guard but Shifter is keeping the position.

Shifter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gein gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gein is posturing up here but Shifter has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Gein tries to roll out but it's too tight and Gein has to tap! Slick submission there by Shifter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Shape Shifter!
Shape Shifter really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that VICIOUS FIGHT GEAR logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
