Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Billy Helix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Njord Balder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helix scores with a hook.
Balder tries to move into range but Helix moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Helix avoids the head kick by Balder.

Helix shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Balder napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Balder wants to control but Helix postures up.
Check out the look on Helix's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Helix creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Helix lands a decent elbow from side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Balder tries to buck Helix off but Helix is having none of it.
Helix controls the position.
Helix seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Balder for as long as he can get away with.
Helix's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Helix cracks Balder with a big right hand but Balder just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Helix slows the pace down.
Helix has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Helix landing strikes.
Helix looks up at the clock and then as Balder takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Helix smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Balder tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Helix wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
A big shot lands for Helix! That's hurt Balder! Will he recover? Helix fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Billy Helix!
