Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bryan Silver!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mullen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Silver manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Silver gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Mullen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Mullen working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Silver's head.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mullen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bryan Silver hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Mullen clinches up with Silver and pushes him back against the cage.

Mullen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Silver wants to hold on but Mullen pushes him away.

Mullen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Silver throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mullen escapes and throws Silver's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Bennie Mullen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Silver wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Silver parries the strikes from Mullen easily there. Mullen is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Silver to escape.
Mullen lands a decent elbow from side control.
Silver is looking to regain half guard here but Mullen keeps moving and retains side control.

Silver is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bennie Mullen will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Silver shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Silver showed some decent athleticism there.

Silver is stalling here. Mullen is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Silver seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Mullen has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
