Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Beto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swanson with a nice cross.
Beto should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Swanson misses with the combination.
Swanson misses with an attempted mid kick.
Swanson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Beto shoots in looking for a takedown. Swanson tries to sprawl out of it but Beto keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Swanson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Beto takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Swanson throws out a loose jab but Beto uses good head movement to avoid it.

Beto goes for a double leg but Swanson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Swanson continues to drive forward.
Beto has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Swanson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Swanson throws a right hand that Beto ducks under and follows up with a left that Beto also avoids with ease.

Swanson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Swanson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Beto changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Swanson fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Beto fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Swanson avoids it really well and circles away.

Beto looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Swanson is fending him off so far but Beto persists. Nope, Swanson circles away and we're back to standing.

Swanson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Beto wants to take the fight to the mat but Swanson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Beto pulls guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Swanson pushes down on Beto's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Beto is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Swanson scores with a couple of nice shots.

Swanson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Beto defends it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Swanson is keen to just control but Beto is a slippery customer.

Swanson throws a sloppy head kick and Beto moves out of range easily.

Swanson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Swanson wants it to stay on the feet.

and Beto counters with a stiff right hand.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Beto throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Swanson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Swanson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Beto is one step ahead there.
Swanson has momentary wrist control but Beto slips an elbow through the middle.

Swanson wants to sweep here but Beto controlling him for the moment.
Beto wants to control from the top but Swanson keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beto postures up in Swanson 's guard and throws a big left but Swanson blocks it.
Beto slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
You can see the frustration on Swanson 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Swanson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Beto on the ground.
Swanson is not content to let Beto control the position.
Beto takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Swanson to pass into mount.
Beto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Swanson is looking to get to half guard.

Beto is landing with some decent strikes but Swanson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Joao Beto has got the better of the ground game so far.
Beto can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Swanson is looking to escape.

Beto is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Swanson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Beto lands a couple of good shots and Swanson has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Swanson is rocked!

Beto is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Swanson with him. Swanson is trying to defend but Beto has an arm under the chin now! Swanson grimaces and is forced to tap out!
