Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lance Boyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat Terrier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lance Boyle has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lance Boyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pat Terrier!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Terrier closes the distance and clinches.
Still in the clinch, Terrier scores with a nice short uppercut.

Terrier lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Boyle is controlling Terrier's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Terrier is just content to waste time from the top position. Boyle takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Boyle has control of Terrier's left arm, preventing Terrier from doing any damage.
Terrier passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Terrier is trying to work for a kimura but Boyle is defending well.
Boyle slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Boyle is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Boyle is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Boyle works his way into side control.

Terrier is trying to control Boyle's posture but Boyle avoids it.
Terrier is not content to let Boyle control the position.

Terrier is looking to get back to his feet here but Boyle is keeping cool and he's managed to take Terrier's back.
Terrier prevents Boyle from getting a body triangle.
I would not like to be Terrier right now.

Boyle working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Terrier holding both Boyle 's hands and preventing any damage.

Terrier trying to control the hands but Boyle won't let him.
Boyle tries to get the hooks in deep but Terrier pushed the leg off.
Terrier can't escape the position.

Boyle lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boyle is punishing Terrier with strikes - can he finish him?!
Terrier covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Boyle scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Boyle tries to get the hooks in deep but Terrier pushed the leg off.
I really don't envy Terrier right now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Terrier trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Terrier is trying to break free.
Boyle has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Terrier's body.
Boyle scores with punches from the back.

Boyle is looking for the choke from the back position but Terrier is controlling his hands well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lance Boyle dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Terrier walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Boyle checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Terrier wants to clinch up but Boyle keeps it at a distance.

Boyle gets the takedown into side control.

Boyle stands up.

Boyle has Terrier up against the cage in a clinch.

Terrier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boyle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Terrier but Terrier pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Terrier rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Boyle moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Terrier throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Boyle shoots for a double leg takedown but Terrier sprawls well. He's pushed Boyle's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Boyle wants to clinch but Terrier slips to the side

and Terrier counters with a takedown into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Terrier looking to control but instead Boyle has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Boyle pushes Terrier off and gets back to his feet.
Boyle moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Boyle feints and as Terrier raises his hands in defense, Boyle changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Terrier not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Terrier is looking to stand up but Boyle isn't so interested in that idea.
Boyle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Terrier swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Boyle stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Terrier swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Boyle counters with a shoot takedown. Terrier fights it but they end up in guard.
Lance Boyle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Boyle trying to control the position from guard on top but Terrier is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Terrier looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Terrier is trying to control the position but Boyle postures up.
Boyle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Boyle postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Boyle stands up and waves to Terrier to follow him.
A punch combination from Terrier misses.

Terrier fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Boyle, pushing him back against the cage.

Boyle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Boyle wants to clinch up but Terrier keeps it at a distance.

Boyle clinches up against the cage.
Terrier has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Boyle avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Boyle drags the fight down to the ground.
Boyle pulls Terrier in close to his closed guard and prevents Terrier from doing any damage or advancing position.
Boyle lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Terrier!
Terrier is squirming around, avoiding Boyle's attempts to control the action.
Terrier wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Terrier looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Terrier rolls, trying to escape but Boyle keeps control of the position.
Boyle really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Terrier.

Boyle working for a choke but Terrier is defending well.
Terrier trying to control but not successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lance Boyle dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Terrier fails to land the takedown.

Boyle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Terrier to the mat! Terrier manages to get full guard.
Terrier looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Terrier tries to strike from the bottom.

Boyle gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Boyle looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Boyle closes this distance looking for a takedown but Terrier circles away.
Boyle lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Terrier backs up against the cage.
Terrier misses with a combination

and Boyle counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Boyle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Boyle stalling.

Boyle pulls guard.
Terrier trying to control the position from guard on top but Boyle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Terrier loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Boyle has his feet on Terrier's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Nice takedown defense from Terrier. No joy for Boyle on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lance Boyle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A right-left combo lands from Terrier.
Terrier fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Boyle scores with a three punch combo!
Terrier swings away with a body shot that misses
and Boyle counters with a straight right hand.
Boyle just misses with a punch to the body.

No joy there for Terrier, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Boyle throws a quick inside leg kick.

Boyle feints and as Terrier raises his hands in defense, Boyle changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Terrier is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Boyle is controlling him.

Terrier has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Boyle is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Terrier.
Terrier is trying to work for a sweep but Boyle has mounted him!

Boyle avoids the attempt from Terrier to control.
Terrier is trying to stand but he's just given Boyle his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Terrier is trying to roll into a better position but Boyle has get a rear naked choke and Terrier is forced to tap out! This one is allllll over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Lance Boyle!
