Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raijin Kage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kage has chosen Gojira - Oroborus as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kage is defended easily by Shields.
Shields connects with a body shot.
Shields swings for the body but Kage moves out of range.
Kage tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shields defends well and Kage ends up having to push Shields into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Kage is working for takedown but Shields is calmly controlling the position for now.
Nick Shields has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raijin Kage.
Shields lands a body shot in the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Shields.
Shields works on Kage's body with a couple of short punches.

Kage got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shields has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kage has managed to get both his arms back between Shields's legs - danger averted.

Shields has his foot on Kage's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kage works his way back into a safe position though.

A close round but Raijin Kage will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kage feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shields's calf.

Kage connects with a leg kick. Shields looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Kage wants to control but Shields is keeping him busy.

Kage is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Shields reverses the position - he's now on top in Kage's guard.

Shields drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shields jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nick Shields will probably get the nod.

Kage shoots for a takedown but Shields saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
And that's the end of the fight!
Raijin Kage comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kage has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
