Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dj Harrington!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harrington looking to score a takedown here. Ambrose is defending well but Harrington drives through and ends up in Ambrose's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Harrington decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ambrose, up you get!
Ambrose lands a nice shot to the body.
Harrington takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Harrington looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ambrose!

Harrington is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ambrose is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Harrington is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ambrose has escaped the position, nice work there.

Ambrose can't do much from the bottom here.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Harrington staying calm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ambrose is looking to reverse the position.

Harrington wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ambrose, who protects the arm well.
Harrington wants to control but Ambrose is keeping him busy.

Ambrose is trying to control Harrington's posture but Harrington avoids it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ambrose is trying to break the clinch but Harrington has him pressed against the cage.
Harrington lands a shoulder strike.
Ambrose is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Harrington gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Harrington looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Harrington is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ambrose defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harrington swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Harrington shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Harrington drops back looking for a leg! Ambrose is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ambrose manages to kick Harrington off! Harrington jumps back into Ambrose's guard.
Harrington is pushing down on Ambrose's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ambrose is fighting to maintain full guard but Harrington has managed to sneak the leg through.

Ambrose looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Harrington is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ambrose sees it coming and defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ambrose wants to control but Harrington passes into side.
Dj Harrington has got the better of the ground game so far.

Harrington tries for a kimura but Ambrose is defending well.

Harrington decides to stand back up. Harrington steps back and let's Ambrose get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Harrington throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Harrington feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ambrose looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Harrington passes into side control.

Harrington tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Harrington has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dj Harrington showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Harrington closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ambrose circles away.
Ambrose throws a nice looking combination but Harrington bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Ambrose counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Harrington fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dj Harrington seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harrington moves out of range of the body kick from Ambrose.

Harrington forces his way into half guard.
Harrington not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Ambrose is staying active underneath Harrington, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Harrington trying to pass the guard but Ambrose defending well.

Ambrose pushes Harrington off but Harrington dives into side control.
Harrington trying to control the action but Ambrose is working from the bottom.

Harrington has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Harrington fails with a takedown attempt.
Desmond Ambrose has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dj Harrington.

Harrington shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Harrington was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Harrington is looking to take a break and control but Ambrose is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Harrington tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Harrington has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Ambrose is trying to control Harrington's posture but Harrington avoids it.
Desmond Ambrose has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dj Harrington is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
A lull in the action here.
