Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stan Dalton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendall Rison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kendall Rison enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stan Dalton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kendall Rison!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rison gets the takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Dalton tries to improve position but can't.
Rison content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dalton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rison wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Dalton gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Dalton is trying to control but can't.
Rison stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kendall Rison was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Dalton takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Rison throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dalton was covering up waiting for the punch and Rison finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Dalton is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rison is aware though and is defending well.
Rison is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Rison's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Rison really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dalton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rison has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dalton is proving hard to escape from.

Dalton will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kendall Rison hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Dalton tries to pull guard but Rison forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Dalton is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rison is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Dalton to the mat. Dalton regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Dalton shoots for a double leg takedown but Rison sprawls well. He's pushed Dalton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Dalton has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rison uses from the top position.
Kendall Rison has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dalton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rison connects with a nice short shot to Dalton's temple.

Rison is trying to control. Dalton wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Kendall Rison has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Rison instigates a clinch.

Rison breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kendall Rison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rison is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Dalton's shoulder. That is not cool.
Rison wants to stand but Dalton has his arm trapped.
Dalton is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rison's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Rison seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dalton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rison tightens his grip and picks Dalton up, before dumping him to the ground. Dalton manages to land in guard.

Kendall Rison showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Dalton throws a shot from downtown. Rison moves away and avoids it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Stan Dalton.
Well Rison has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
