Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Kwebek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Eshton!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eshton shoots in for a double leg but Kwebek sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Eshton is defended easily by Kwebek.
John Kwebek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eshton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kwebek's waist but Kwebek gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Eshton off to one side.
John Kwebek has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Eshton.
Kwebek clinches.
Eshton takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Tom Eshton has been cut.
Kwebek lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Eshton goes for a takedown attempt but Kwebek pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kwebek closes the distance and clinches.
Kwebek lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
That has opened up Tom Eshton's cut even more.
Kwebek comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
The cut above Tom Eshton's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Eshton takes an elbow to the temple.
Eshton is rocked!
Eshton looks winded!
Eshton has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kwebek after a bit of a struggle.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Eshton is pressed against the cage. Kwebek pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Eshton! Two more big strikes from Kwebek and Eshton crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). John Kwebek!
