We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Caprillo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Caprillo tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Clay counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Caprillo shoots in for a takedown but Clay shows good takedown defense.

Caprillo throws a nice looking combination but Clay bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Caio Cesar Caprillo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Clay counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Caprillo tries to close the distance and clinch but Clay swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

It looks like Brodus Clay has been cut.

and Clay counters with a straight right hand.
Caprillo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Clay connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Clay fakes the body blow, causing Caprillo to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Caprillo goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
