The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hadaway closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smith circles away.

Hadaway drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Hadaway stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hadaway. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smith looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Smith is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hadaway is aware though and is defending well.

Hadaway is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Smith knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Smith for a finish.
