PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bam Blimm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephane Ouelet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ouelet comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Chien Fou kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouelet avoids a kick to the body.
Ouelet has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Blimm is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Blimm throws a series of punches but Ouelet moves out of range.

Ouelet looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Blimm with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ouelet connects with a nice short shot to Blimm's temple.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Ouelet changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Blimm looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
