The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lavelle tries to bum rush Oxlus with a series of wild strikes but Oxlus uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The fight stays on the outside here - Oxlus looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lavelle should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Oxlus looks to clinch

and Lavelle counters with a nice double leg into side control. Oxlus won't be happy with that.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Lavelle has hold of Oxlus's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Oxlus tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Lavelle cranks the arm and Oxlus screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Oxlus, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
