Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sanford Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frankie Theanswer!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walsh gets caught flat footed, as Theanswer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Theanswer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Walsh is looking for a triangle but Theanswer pushes his legs off easily.
Theanswer engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Theanswer throws a big elbow that misses.
Theanswer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walsh swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Theanswer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Theanswer throws a big right hand that misses.
Walsh trying to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Theanswer shoots in and bounces Walsh off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Walsh not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Walsh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Theanswer sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Theanswer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Walsh is keeping the position for now.
Walsh utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Theanswer forces his way into half guard.
Walsh won't allow Theanswer to pass to mount.

Theanswer content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Walsh wants to improve his position but Theanswer is controlling well.

Theanswer is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Walsh sees it coming and defends easily.
Theanswer not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Theanswer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Walsh's head.
Theanswer is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Walsh wants to control but Theanswer passes into side.
Walsh tries to improve position but can't.

Theanswer decides to stand back up.
Theanswer lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Theanswer manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Walsh on his heels. He'll look to pass Walsh's guard now, I'm sure.
Walsh looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Theanswer puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Theanswer wants to free his trapped foot but Walsh is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Walsh is trying to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Theanswer keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Walsh trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Theanswer manages to pass to mount!
Theanswer content just to control the position here.
Poor strikes thrown by Theanswer there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Theanswer sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walsh really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Walsh wants to control but Theanswer is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frankie Theanswer dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Walsh shoots in but no luck this time.

Theanswer clinches with his opponent.

Theanswer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Theanswer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Theanswer.
Theanswer is looking to take a break and control but Walsh is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Theanswer content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Theanswer stands up and beckons Walsh to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walsh shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Theanswer pinned against the cage. Theanswer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Theanswer stuns Walsh with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Theanswer takes the fight into the clinch.
Theanswer controlling the action here for a moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Walsh jumps guard.
Theanswer passes Walsh's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Theanswer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Walsh has his hands clasped together around Theanswer's back. He's all about the action.

Walsh is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Theanswer pulls his head out easily.
Walsh is trying to get back to full guard.
Theanswer with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Theanswer works his foot free and advances to mount.
Frankie Theanswer has got the better of the ground game so far.
Walsh is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Theanswer unloads with some shots from mount but Walsh bucks and avoids them well.
Theanswer looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Walsh covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
