The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dagens takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Santana could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Santana moves into range and clinches up with Dagens.

Dagens gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Santana regains guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Olaf Dagens hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Santana shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Santana was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Santana is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Dagens to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Dagens shrugs it off.
