Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Xiao Long Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akiyama Shinichi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li comes to the cage accompanied by Dragon Punch!. Akiyama Shinichi has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Xiao Long Li's chin.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinichi clinches with his opponent.
Li has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Shinichi is trying to keep an underhook but Li manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Shinichi wants to improve his position but Li is controlling well.
Li lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Li not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Li will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Li working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
We've been hearing that Li has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That's time! Li's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Li counters with a shoot takedown. Shinichi fights it but they end up in guard.
Xiao Long Li overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Shinichi has his foot on Li's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Li works his way back into a safe position though.

Shinichi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Li doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Li manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Shinichi darts in looking for a takedown but Li gets double underhooks and turns Shinichi into the cage.
Xiao Long Li has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akiyama Shinichi.
Shinichi is looking to control Li's arms but Li gets an underhook and turns him. Now Shinichi has his back to the cage.
Shinichi has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Li is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Li creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Li is working Shinichi over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Well Li has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
