Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kim Jong Un (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandr Karelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jong Un's entrance music is DPRKorean National Anthem. A fine choice. Aleksandr Karelin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kim Jong Un!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksandr Karelin!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Karelin misses.
Some wild striking there from Karelin.
Karelin scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Karelin throws a head kick that misses
and Jong Un counters with an outside leg kick.
Karelin throws a sloppy head kick
and Jong Un counters with an inside leg kick.
Karelin throws a low kick but Jong Un avoids it.
Aleksandr Karelin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karelin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jong Un counters with a nice kick to the body.
Karelin looks winded!
Karelin thows a leg kick but Jong Un checks it
and Jong Un counters with a nice low kick that buckles Karelin's knee momentarily.

Karelin takes the fight into the clinch.
Jong Un fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jong Un drops down looking for an ankle pick but Karelin pulls his leg out and moves away.

Karelin takes the fight into the clinch.

Karelin is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jong Un is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Karelin to the mat. Karelin regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Jong Un is looking to work some ground and pound but Karelin has wrist control.
Jong Un lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Karelin pulls Jong Un in to control the position.
Jong Un postures up in Karelin's guard and throws a big left but Karelin blocks it.
Jong Un throwing strikes but missing.
Jong Un loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Karelin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jong Un.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jong Un accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Karelin keeping moving, preventing Jong Un from controlling successfully.
Jong Un postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Karelin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Karelin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jong Un. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jong Un throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Karelin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jong Un trying to control but Karelin is working from the bottom.
Jong Un missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Karelin throws a series of punches but Jong Un avoids them all with ease.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Karelin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jong Un moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Karelin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jong Un tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Karelin is in Jong Un's guard.

Jong Un pushes a forearm under Karelin's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Karelin is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kim Jong Un!
A less than humble Kim Jong Un misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
