Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Barney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holmes has chosen SBB - Memento z banalnym tryptykiem as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barney throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Holmes has taken the fight to the clinch.
Holmes makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Holmes blocks the elbow strike.
Holmes slowing the pace effectively.

Holmes pulls Barney into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Holmes tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Holmes pulls Barney in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barney trying to control but Holmes is working from the bottom.
Barney trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Holmes defending well as Barney loads up on a big left hand.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Holmes shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Barney napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barney tries to bench press Holmes off him but Holmes keeps the position.

Holmes swings around for an armbar but Barney sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Holmes's guard.
Holmes wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barney throwing strikes from guard but Holmes blocks nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barney wants to get up but he can't break Holmes's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Holmes is adopting a defensive guard.
Holmes's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jon Holmes hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Holmes gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Holmes makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Barney struggles to land a body shot inside as Holmes controls his hands.

Holmes has picked Barney up - he's going for a ride! Holmes dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Holmes is trying for a kimura here. Barney looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Holmes wins by kimura!
