The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ankarstrom fails to land with a series of punches.
Charlie Ankarstrom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thiago thumps Ankarstrom with a low kick.

It looks like Charlie Ankarstrom has been cut.
Ankarstrom tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thiago sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ankarstrom somewhat.
An inside leg kick from Thiago misses.
Ankarstrom misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Ankarstrom closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Thiago to the mat! Thiago manages to get full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ankarstrom stops Thiago from standing up.
Ankarstrom sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Thiago's guard.
Ankarstrom throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Thiago pushes Ankarstrom off looking to stand but Ankarstrom dives back in and keeps control.

Ankarstrom moves nicely into side control.
Thiago is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ankarstrom is controlling him well.

Ankarstrom is trying to get an arm triangle but Thiago is defending well.

Thiago wants to get back to his feet but Ankarstrom drags him back down.
Ankarstrom advances to full mount.

Thiago tries to buck Ankarstrom off but Ankarstrom takes his back!
Ankarstrom punches the canvas rather than the man.

Ankarstrom is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Thiago with him. Thiago is trying to defend but Ankarstrom has an arm under the chin now! Thiago grimaces and is forced to tap out!
