Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Thunder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Bull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bull is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Last Shadow Puppets "The Age Of The Understatement". Johnny Thunder has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Thunder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Terry Bull!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bull closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bull lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bull scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Bull is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Thunder looking for a guillotine here but Bull defends easily.
Thunder is breathing heavily.
Bull with a nice head shot there.
Bull cracks Thunder with a solid left hand.
Bull pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Thunder is keeping the position for now.

Bull trying to control the position from guard on top but Thunder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Thunder had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bull is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Thunder Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bull's back instead.
Bull tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Thunder can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bull is looking to escape.
Bull tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bull manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Bull is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bull makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bull.
Bull throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Thunder passes Bull's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Thunder is looking for a kimura but Bull is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Thunder to get the leverage.

Thunder is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Bull is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Thunder's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Thunder's back!
Bull is not going to allow Thunder to sit and survive in this position.

Thunder manages to reverse the position and now he's in Bull's guard. Nice work there by Thunder.
Bull looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thunder is one step ahead there.
Thunder is in close to Bull's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Bull throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Thunder has gone for a leg lock! Bull slips out almost immediately though and dives into Thunder's guard.

Thunder is looking for a triangle but Bull pushes his legs off easily.

Thunder is looking to sinch up a triangle. Bull throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Thunder's body to avoid the submission. Thunder has instead reached around Bull's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Thunder arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Johnny Thunder!
