The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from DaMennis misses.
Friday fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

DaMennis is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

DaMennis wants to get back to his feet but Friday is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now DaMennis is on top in guard.
DaMennis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Friday escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. DaMennis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Friday is working an open guard so DaMennis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Friday uses good head movement to avoid the hook from DaMennis.
Friday stalks DaMennis and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into DaMennis's face. DaMennis staggers backwards, shaken.
DaMennis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
DaMennis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

DaMennis throws a looping overhand right but Friday ducks down to avoid it.
Friday throws a right and a left that DaMennis avoids nicely.
Rick Friday seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Friday throws an uppercut from half a mile away. DaMennis sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Friday shoots for a takedown but DaMennis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Dennis DaMennis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Friday.

and DaMennis shoots in, scooping Friday off his feet. DaMennis is holding his opponent over his shoulder. He slams Friday to the mat and Friday is in big trouble! DaMennis is landing strikes to his unconscious foe and the ref dives in to end the fight! DaMennis is celebrating with his corner and rightfully so.
