Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kane Slade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and kyle penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slade swings for the body but penn moves out of range.
penn tries for a takedown but Slade sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
penn fails with the takedown.
Slade is looking to clinch but penn is avoiding it.
penn checks the leg kick.
penn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Slade throws a combination but it was largely blocked by penn.

Slade has taken the fight to the clinch.
Slade keeps control of penn as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
With the fighters up against the cage, penn throws an elbow but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

penn tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Slade smiles and moves away.
Kane Slade has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of kyle penn.
penn throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

penn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Slade closes the distance and lands a one-two.
penn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
penn looks to land a combination but Slade avoids it well.
penn lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Slade plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Slade has managed to clinch.

Slade breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A head kick by Slade misses

and penn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Slade's guard.
penn looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slade manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
penn bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

penn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

penn stands up and waves to Slade to follow him.
penn shoots for a double leg takedown but Slade sprawls well. He's pushed penn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Slade misses with a head kick.
kyle penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Slade rushes penn and presses him up against the cage.
Slade stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Slade successfully pulls guard.

Slade working for a triangle but penn defends it easily.
Slade could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

penn wants to stand but Slade has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Slade looking to control.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Slade is on top in guard.
Slade trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
penn can't keep his opponent in guard - Slade advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Slade is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Slade decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
No luck for penn with that takedown attempt.
Slade takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Slade tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Slade closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
penn using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
penn jumps guard but Slade stands there with penn around his waist. penn gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The is referee keeping an eye on Slade - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kane Slade dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

penn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
penn takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Nice sprawl there from Slade as penn shoots in.
penn tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Slade swivels and escapes.
Kane Slade has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of kyle penn.

Slade forces his way into half guard.

Slade is working for a submission of some sort.
penn scores with a few weak punches.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Slade uses his free foot to push down on penn's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for penn.

Slade has control of penn's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and penn regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Slade seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but penn is holding on tight.
penn tries to hold on but Slade pushes him away.
Slade lands a big elbow.
penn is looking to get to half guard.

Slade working the ground and pound effectively.
Kane Slade overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
penn in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
penn is working to get back to half guard.
Slade manages to capitalize on a mistake by penn to take his back!
penn can't escape the position.

Slade is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but penn won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Slade off his unconscious opponent!
