The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacob scores with a shot to the body.

Jacob closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Guzman's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Jacob pushes down on Guzman's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jacob wants to work for an arm triangle but Guzman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Guzman is refusing to be controlled, as Jacob sits in half guard.
Guzman is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.

Let's hope that Jacob has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Guzman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jacob tries to pass to full mount but Guzman defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jacob in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Guzman tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Jacob!
