The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A combination from Thompson does no damage.
Thompson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Olson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

It looks like Luigi Olson has been cut.

Olson darts in and clinches Thompson up against the cage.
Olson has Thompson pressed against the cage, preventing Thompson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Thompson gets underhooks to prevent Olson's takedown attempt.

Olson manages to break the clinch.
Thompson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Olson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Thompson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Thompson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Thompson misses with an uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Thompson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Thompson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

and Olson moves into the clinch.

Olson manages to break the clinch.
Olson tries to clinch up but Thompson circles away and keeps his distance.
Olson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Thompson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Olson scrambles back to his feet.
Thompson looks to land a left hand but Olson moved out of range nicely.
Thompson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Olson counters with an inside leg kick.
Olson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Thompson.

Olson is rocked!
Thompson finds Olson's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Olson flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Thompson lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Olson will be OK.
