Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spencer instigates a clinch.
Smith tries to stall but Spencer uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Spencer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Spencer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smith to the mat! Smith manages to get full guard.
Spencer is breathing heavily.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Spencer stands and throws Smith's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Smith is trying to improve his position.
Smith is trying to escape the position but Spencer is controlling the position.

Spencer cracks Smith with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Spencer lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Smith is desperately trying to improve his position but Spencer has a good base and remains in mount.
We've been hearing good reports from Spencer's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Spencer has hold of Smith's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Smith manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Spencer with shots to the head and body - Smith looks very uncomfortable down there.
Spencer has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Smith's face.
Spencer is in the full mount, landing strikes.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Spencer cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Spencer jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Smith manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Spencer tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Smith is looking to regain half guard here but Spencer keeps moving and retains side control.
Spencer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Smith tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Spencer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Spencer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bud Spencer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Smith is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Spencer has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Smith is looking to defend but Spencer has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Smith! Spencer pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Smith taps out and this one is all over!
