And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Misha Molotov!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Viktor Lagutenko and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Molotov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Some wild striking there from Steel.
Steel throws a series of punches but Molotov avoids them all with ease.
Molotov showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Steel.

Molotov gets a double leg takedown into Steel's guard.
Steel keeping moving, preventing Molotov from controlling successfully.
Molotov distracts Steel with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Molotov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Steel wants to stand up but Molotov is controlling him.

Molotov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Molotov decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Steel enables Molotov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Steel manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Molotov lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Molotov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Steel tries to kick Molotov off but Molotov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Molotov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Misha Molotov dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Molotov fails with the takedown.

Molotov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Steel did well to prevent Molotov getting side control.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Molotov. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Molotov in particular looking to stall.

Molotov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Steel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Molotov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Molotov looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Steel has hold of Molotov's hands but Molotov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Molotov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Steel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Steel is staying active underneath Molotov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Molotov lands a nice short elbow.
Molotov has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Molotov has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Steel's face.

Molotov working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Steel turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Molotov off and cradles Steel's limp body as Molotov celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Misha Molotov!
