The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A head kick lands from White that sends Acevedo to the canvas. Acevedo tries to scramble back to his feet but White brings him back down into side control.

Acevedo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. White did well to prevent Acevedo getting side control.

White has hold of Acevedo's hands but Acevedo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Acevedo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Acevedo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Acevedo is nestled in close to White, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
