Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Karl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louis Friedlander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Friedlander has chosen Bring Me to Life as his entrance music. Louis Friedlander acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Karl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Louis Friedlander !
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karl throws the left hand but Friedlander avoids the punch easily.

Friedlander closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Karl did well to prevent Friedlander getting side control.

Karl controlling the position for now.
Karl is looking to control Friedlander 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Karl avoid being mounted?
Friedlander thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Karl's head.
Karl regains full guard. Nicely done.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Karl managing to control the position.
Karl wants to sweep here but Friedlander controlling him for the moment.

Friedlander 's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Karl is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Friedlander tries to free his leg and advance position but Karl is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

and Friedlander counters with a left and a right that stings Karl.
Friedlander checks a low kick from Karl.
Karl throws the left hand but Friedlander avoids the punch easily.

Karl gets a clinch.

Friedlander is trying to drag Karl to the mat but Karl just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Friedlander lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Friedlander seems to be looking for submissions.
Karl gets full guard.
Friedlander stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Karl swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Karl seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Karl is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Friedlander drops back, looking for a kneebar! Karl looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Karl looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Karl!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Friedlander tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Karl wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Karl sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Friedlander is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Karl looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Friedlander is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Karl has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Karl wants to control but Friedlander is keeping him busy.
Friedlander is being controlled here.
Friedlander looks to move to half guard but instead Karl has passed into mount! Damn!
Karl tries to control but Friedlander wriggling away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Friedlander is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Louis Friedlander will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Karl throws a sloppy body shot
and Friedlander counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jimmy Karl seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Friedlander avoids the body shot from Karl.
Friedlander tries to clinch but Karl is having none of it.

Karl rushes Friedlander and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Karl is trying to maintain a safe position but Friedlander gets an underhook and turns Karl into the cage.
Friedlander prevents the takedown attempt.
Karl wants a takedown.

Friedlander breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Friedlander shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Karl is trying to defend but Friedlander finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Friedlander moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Karl has worked his arm free - good work by Karl!

Friedlander thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Karl's head.

Karl is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Friedlander is looking to work some ground and pound but Karl has wrist control.
Karl is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Friedlander stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Karl swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Karl is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Friedlander drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Karl manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Friedlander has Karl in his guard.

Friedlander is looking for a triangle but Karl pushes his legs off easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Friedlander is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Karl advances position into side control!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Karl tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Louis Friedlander showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Karl's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Karl throws a body shot but no joy.

Karl has Friedlander up against the cage in a clinch.
Friedlander trying to control the position but instead, Karl has worked for underhooks and has pushed Friedlander into the cage.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Friedlander just misses with a elbow thrown towards Karl's brow.

Karl's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Friedlander throws an elbow but it misses.
Friedlander wants to take the fight to the mat but Karl manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Friedlander blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Friedlander misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Karl.

Friedlander tries to land knees in the clinch but Karl avoids the damage to the body.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Friedlander .
Friedlander has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Karl avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Friedlander blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Friedlander has clasped his hands together around Karl's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Friedlander is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Karl has escaped the position, nice work there.
Karl is looking for a sweep.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Karl is trying to control Friedlander 's posture but Friedlander avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Friedlander is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Karl has escaped the position, nice work there.

Karl tries to bench press Friedlander off him but Friedlander keeps the position.
Friedlander wants to lay and pray for a moment but Karl keeps working.
Karl tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Friedlander wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Karl is not content to let Friedlander control the position.
Friedlander tries to advance to mount but can't.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Karl is not content to let Friedlander control the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Karl struggling a bit here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Friedlander tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Karl counters with an outside leg kick.
Jimmy Karl has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Karl misses with a few strikes there.

Friedlander moves into the clinch.
Louis Friedlander is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Karl misses with an elbow over the top.

Louis Friedlander comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Friedlander winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
